Easy Layby

We are pleased to offer you a Layby service for purchases of $20 or more. We require a 10% deposit and a $2.00 non-refundable service fee for a 10 week term. Fortnightly payments are required or the Layby may be cancelled. Interim payments may be made at any Front End checkout in the store where the lay by is held.

(Excludes seasonal clearance, discontinued items and selected products (perishable goods, tinted paints and chlorine).

Parcel Pick Up & Home Delivery

Simply advise our Checkout Operator or Service Assistant when making your purchase and take advantage of these two convenient services.
(Charges will apply for Home Delivery).

Advertised Merchandise Policy

BIG W makes every effort to ensure stock is available when advertised. However, if an item is unavailable we’ll offer to sell you a comparable item (if available) with the same reduction in price as the advertised item. Savings may vary slightly to those shown. Some styles, colours and sizes may not be available at all stores. Accessories not included. Some larger items are sold boxed and require assembling. We reserve the right to limit purchases to reasonable retail quantities. Commercial quantities not supplied.

BIG W’s Responsibility to you

If the product you buy from BIG W is faulty, unfit for purpose or does not match the sample or description we will offer you a repair, exchange or refund. *

When you return a product, we ask you to please also return all instruction manuals and accessories.

Keep Your Receipt
  • It’s always easier to provide a repair, exchange or refund if you have a receipt
Without a receipt
  • If you do not have a receipt, identification showing your name, address and signature will be required
  • Refunds may be by cheque mailed to your home address within 10 working days

BIG W is not obliged to give you a repair, exchange or refund if you change your mind after purchase. Choose carefully, particularly when purchasing the following lines. If sealed do not open!

Exclusions for change of mind

Tinted Paint
  • We cannot give you an exchange or refund after the paint has been tinted
Printer Cartridges
  • We cannot give you an exchange or refund after the printer cartridge has been opened
DVDs CDs, Pre-Recorded Videos, Computer Games and Computer Software
  • We cannot give you an exchange or refund if the security seal has been broken
  • If you do not have a receipt we can only offer an exchange of an identical title
Mobile Phone Vouchers
  • No exchanges or refunds given on mobile phone charge vouchers

Special Procedures for certain products

Mobile phones that are faulty, unfit for purpose or do not comply with sample or description.
  • BIG W will send the mobile phone to the manufacturer for assessment. We will provide you with a repair, exchange or refund if the manufacturer confirms that the mobile phone is faulty, unfit for purpose or does not comply with a sample or description. You must provide a receipt or proof of purchase for the manufacturer warranty purposes.
Electrical Products/Photographic Equipment that are faulty, unfit for purpose or do not comply with sample or description.
  • We recommend that you contact the Manufacturers customer care hotline (see below) before returning your product to the nearest BIG W store. You must provide a receipt or proof of purchase for manufacturers warranty purposes.
  • BIG W will send the product to the manufacturer to repair the product or advise us to offer you an exchange or refund
