Types of contact lenses

Disposable contact lenses – Disposable contact lenses provide a convenient alternative where the lens is thrown away after a certain number of days ensuring your lenses are always fresh, clean and comfortable.

1-Day disposables – Worn for 1 day only – negating the need for cleaning, storing and the use of contact lens solutions.

Frequent replacement disposables – Worn on a daily basis for between 2 and 4 weeks, taken out each night and stored in solution.

Extended wear disposables – Worn continuously (overnight) for between 1 and 4 weeks.

Conventional contact lenses – Conventional contact lenses can be used for normal daily wear and are often preferred for customers with unique requirements like a high prescription. Conventional Contact Lenses require daily cleaning and storage in contact lens solution.

Hard lenses – Made from rigid gas permeable material, ideal for high astigmatism.

Soft lenses – Made from gel-like, water-containing plastics and cover a large prescription range.

Coloured contact lenses

Many of the types of lenses described above also come in colours that can enhance the natural colour of your eyes — that is, make your green eyes even greener, for example. Or these lenses can totally change the eye’s appearance, as in from brown to blue. Special-effect lenses are also called theatrical, novelty, or costume lenses, these take colouration one step further to make you look like a cat, a zombie, or another alter-ego of your choice.
