Roses are one of the worlds most loved flowers, whether bought from a florist or grown at home in the garden.
At BIG W, you will find a wide selection of Roses*, our most popular, the 2 year old Classic Rose collection from only $8.87. We carry a large range of colours in all varieties to cater for all tastes.
Our Roses are grown in South Australia; experts say the climatic conditions and soil qualities on the plains of South Australia are the best growing conditions for roses.
We purchase our roses from 'The Rose Company', a family business established in 1947. The Rose Company Team have a passion for growing, packaging and distributing quality roses. They take pride in the product, so that you, the consumer, gain maximum pleasure and enjoyment from your purchase. For expert advice you can contact the team at The Rose Company via their web site www.therosecompany.com.au.
All Roses sold at BIG W are wrapped by means of a hydraulic roller to produce a firm bag. This stabilises the root system and allows the moisture in the bag to become concentrated. The plants are wrapped in sawdust and enclosed in craft paper that helps to hold the mositure in. This keeps the plant alive and growing whilst in the store. This is an advantage for our customers, as the roses are in a good condition when planted. The end benefit is that growth will be vigorous and colour quicker.
*Roses not available in Brisbane CBD, QV Melbourne or Canberra City.

Why a two year old plant?
The plants are better developed when purchased, secondly they can be planted earlier in the rose season, this enables the newly planted roses to take advantage of the early autumn rains. Due to these features, two year old plants have the added ability to adapt easily to their new growing environment. The end result is a superior quality plant in your garden.
The classics this year include varieties such as, Blue Moon, Double Delight, Iceberg, Just Joey and The Peace Rose to name a few.
