High Definition video capture made easy
The HC-V10 digital camcorder records crisp, clear High Definition video (1280 x 720) in two formats for greater flexibility. Utilise MP4 recording for broad compatibility and high compression to create small, easy-to-share files. Or take advantage of the iFrame™ format, which is designed to make video editing quicker. With iFrame, the video you record with your camera is in the same format used for editing, so it's fast to import and edit with compatible applications. You can also be sure of capturing any spur-of-the-moment shooting opportunities, thanks to the Pre-Record and Quick Start features. In Quick Start mode, you simply flip open the LCD and you’re ready to shoot in 0.8 seconds. The Pre-Record function continuously records three seconds of buffer memory so you don’t miss those spontaneous moments.
Everything fits in the picture with Enhanced Zoom and a Wide-Angle Lens
This compact, easy-to-carry camcorder features 63x Optical Zoom and an amazing 70x Enhanced Optical Zoom. The Enhanced Zoom function uses the effective area of the sensor to further extend the zooming power and record with HD image quality. The 31.6mm wide-angle* lens is especially convenient for recording indoors or in tight spaces, making it possible to shoot at a close distance from the subject while fitting both the subject and surrounding area into the frame. The wide-angle setting also captures beautiful images of wide landscapes and allows large groups of people to fit into the frame, making it highly versatile for use in all kinds of situations.
POWER O.I.S. with Active Mode assures crisp high-quality images
The HC-V10 camcorder is equipped with a high-quality optical hand-shake compensation function essential for its compact, lightweight body. The POWER O.I.S. (Optical Image Stabiliser) suppresses hand-shake while maintaining high image quality across the entire zoom range. This versatile camcorder also features an Active mode to assure clear, beautiful images with minimal blurring even when you are on the move.
iA (Intelligent Auto) offers effortless professional video results
When iA mode is activated, it automatically selects the most suitable shooting mode at the press of a button. iA modes include Power O.I.S. (Optical Image Stabiliser) with Active mode; Intelligent Contrast Control, which optimises contrast by preventing blown highlights and blocked shadows; Intelligent Scene Selector, which automatically selects the best Scene Mode to record in based on detected light and objects; and Face Detection, which senses ambient lighting to adjust exposure and capture faces beautifully even in dim or backlit scenes.
Edit, upload and share your camcorder video masterpieces
The camcorder’s HD Writer HE 1.0 software (included) allows for a range of PC editing and sharing functions. The software is compatible with YouTube™ and Facebook™ to make online sharing easy. Image data can also be transferred to a Mac computer for video editing in applications such as iMovie. The HC-V10 also features an SD Card slot that supports SD/SDHC/SDXC Memory Cards.
