1. Information on how to enter and prizes form part of these terms and ???Terms and Conditions???). Entry into the competition is deemed to be acceptance of these Terms and Conditions.
2. Entry is only open to residents of Australia.
3. Employees of BIG W and Woolworths Limited and their immediate families and related companies and agencies involved in this promotion are ineligible to enter.
4. Competition commences 8/11/07 and ends close of business 20/12/07. Close of business may vary by store and state.
5. To enter, you must spend $30 or more in a single transaction at any BIG W store during the promotional period to receive an entry form attached to the bottom of your shopping docket. You may enter the competition as many times as you like. ONE ENTRY FORM PER TRANSACTION PERMITTED. The completed entry form must be placed in the entry barrel provided at the front of the store.
6. Illegible or incomprehensible entries will be deemed invalid.
7. The prize pool consists of 1 Major Prize. The total value of the prize pool is $22,000.
8. The Major Prize is for two adults and 2 children (2-11 years of age). The Major Prize winner can choose between a Summer OR Winter travel package. The Winter Package Major Prize consists of Return Economy Class Airfares (from the winners nearest capital city in Australia) to Finland. 3 nights accommodation at Hotel Riekonlinna, 2 nights accommodation Quality Hotel Santa Clause, Rovaniemi (breakfasts included). Prize includes transfers: Ivalo airport ??? Saariselka, Saariselka ??? Tankavaara ??? Rovaniemi, Rovaniemi ??? Rovaniemi, transfers and ??? Sami Museum and Northern Lapland Nature Centre, Reindeer Safari and transfers to The Santa Claus Village. The Summer Package Major Prize consists of Return Economy Class Airfares (from the winners nearest capital city in Australia) to Finland. 3 nights accommodation at Hotel Riekonlinna, 2 nights accommodation Quality Hotel Santa Clause, Rovaniemi (breakfasts included). Prize includes transfers: Ivalo airport ??? Saariselka, Saariselka ??? Tankavaara ??? Rovaniemi, Rovaniemi ??? Rovaniemi, transfers and ??? Sami Museum and Northern Lapland Nature Centre, Reindeer Farm and transfers to The Santa Claus Village, transfers and entrance to Gold Museum. The Major Prize is valid for 1 (one) year from the date of the draw. The Major Prize is not transferable or redeemable for cash. All airfare related taxes and surcharges, and any meals (other than those nominated in the prize), drinks, insurance and spending money are the responsibility of the Major Prize winners. The Major Prize is subject to availability and black out dates apply.. Any cost incurred through voluntary cancellation/ amendment will be at the Major Prize winners expense. The Major Prize pool is valued at a maximum of $22,000.
9. At 10am AEST on Friday 21/12/07 at Woolworths, 1 Woolworths Way, Bella Vista, NSW 2153 each of the 148 BIG W store names will go into a draw and a store name will be drawn. At 11am AEST on Friday 21/12/07 the drawn store will then draw the winner of the Major Prize from the entries received in that store.
10. The Major Prize winner will be contacted by telephone and notified by mail, and his or her name will be published in the Public Notices section of The Australian newspaper on Thursday 17/1/08. Winners must claim their prizes by Thursday 17/4/08. In the event that a prize remains unredeemed after this date the prize will be forfeited and cash will not be awarded in lieu of the prize.
11. The Major Prize is not transferable or exchangeable and cannot be taken as cash. If the winner is under the age of 18 years the Major Prize will be awarded to the winner’s parent or guardian. Minors must be accompanied by a guardian on the trip.
12. Subject to State and Territory law, if for any reason a prize part of the Major Prize is not available, the promoter reserves the right to subtitute the Major Prize of part of the Major Prize for a price of greater of equal value.
13. If for whatever reason the Major Prize winner does not take any part of the Major Prize , that part of the Major Prize will be forfeited and will not be awarded as cash.
14. The promoter is not responsible for any late, lost or misdirected entries sent but not received by the promoter.
15. The draw is final and no correspondence will be entered into with persons who did not win the Major Prize.
16. The value of the Major Prize is in Australian Dollars. All values quoted represent the retail value of the Major Prize. All costs are inclusive of GST.
17. The promoter shall conduct such further draws as may be necessary at BIG W Support Office, 1 Woolworths Way, Bella Vista, NSW on 1/5/08 at 3pm AEST to issue any unclaimed prizes by that date subject to any written direction given under Regulation 37 of the Lotteries and Gaming Act 1993 (South Australia) and any other written direction or permission required from regulations under State and Territories lotteries legislation. Any winners will be published in the Public Notices section of The Australian newspaper on 19/5/08. In the event that a prize remains unredeemed after 20/8/2008 the prize will be forfeited and cash will not be awarded in lieu of the prize.
18. The promoter shall not be liable for any loss or damage whatsoever which is suffered (including but not limited to indirect or consequential loss) or for any personal injury suffered or sustained in connection with any other prize/s except for any liability which cannot be excluded by law. In the case of the intervention of any outside agent or event which changes the result or prevents or hinders its determination, including but not limited to infection by computer virus, bugs, tampering, unauthorized intervention, fraud, technical failures, vandalism, power failures, natural disasters, acts of God, civil unrest or strikes; the promoter reserves the right in its sole discretion to cancel the event and recommence it from the start on the same conditions subject to State Regulation or to disqualify any individual who tampers with the entry process.
19. The promoter accepts no responsibility for any tax implications that may arise from the prize winnings. Independent financial advice should be sought. If the information requested is not provided, the entrant may not participate in the promotion. By entering the promotion, unless otherwise advised, each entrant also agrees that the promoter may use this information in any media for future promotional, marketing and publicity purposes without further reference, payment or other compensation to the entrant. Entrant’s personal information may be disclosed to State and Territory lottery departments and the winners’ names published as required under the relevant lottery legislation. a request to access, update or correct any information should be directed to the promoter at the address set out in clause 17.
