Baby Clothes Buying Guide
Becoming a parent is an exciting time, but it's also a period of great change and new experiences. Selecting the right clothes for a baby - whether they are a newborn or heading towards their first birthday - is one of those.
With our guide to baby clothes, you can get the best out of our baby wear range and put together a wardrobe that is practical and comfortable. Our guide will help you save time and money - two things that can become scarce with a new baby at home!

There is a general sizing system to follow when buying clothes for newborn babies to those over twelve months. The sizing system gives an indication based on age and/or weight. But because babies are different sizes at birth and develop at different rates, the system is a guide only.
| Sizing Chart | ||
| Age | Weight | Size |
| NewBorns(birth-3 months) | Under 4kg | 0000 |
| 3-6 months | Under 6kg | 000 |
| 6-9 months | 6-8kg | 00 |
| 10-12 months | Over 8kg | 0 |
| Over 12 months | Over 12kg | 1 |
It's also important to note that babies can grow quickly, so it's a good idea not to overstock on the smaller sizes. If you're in the final stages of pregnancy and preparing a set of outfits for your soon-to-be newborn, consider buying clothes in both the 0000 and 000 size ranges.
Considering the right type of material and design are also important factors to keep in mind when buying clothes for your child. Not only do you want them to be comfortable, you may also want to prioritise clothes that allow for easy dressing. Remember to buy clothes that are suitable for the season - singlets and short sleeves for summer and full-sleeved clothes for winter months.
Full length all-in-one body suits
Often called onesies, all-in-one or full body suits are great for keeping your baby warm at night. Some all-in-one suits come with the feet enclosed and others cut off at the ankle. The non-footed suits might be worth considering if your baby is growing fast! Some are also designed with fold-over mitten cuffs, which are great for keeping tiny hands warm and can also stop them from scratching.
Rompers and singlet suits
Rompers and singlet suits are better suited for summer as they are designed to have a looser fit and are generally made with more breathable fabrics. This means your baby will have optimum comfort even on a hot day! Remember to look out for suits with zips and press studs as they will ensure longer-lasting wear and make dressing your baby a lot easier.
T-shirt and pants
If your child no longer fits into body suits, you may have to start looking into the two piece range. For babies entering this phase, leggings are ideal for pairing with t-shirts. T-shirts come in many styles and colours - they're also easy for dressing and are perfect for wearing outdoors!
Two-piece pyjamas are also handy to keep in the wardrobe. Once babies begin to roll around in their sleep, body suits can often become uncomfortable. Most two-piece pyjamas are designed to keep your baby snug and warm at night. They can be combined with a singlet and a baby sleep bag for warmth.
Keeping your baby's hands and feet warm is important, so make sure your little one is fully prepared to brave the cold weather with socks and gloves. Beanies are also a great way of keeping your baby's head warm in the cooler months, and a wide brim hat is essential for summer.
