Between 2010 and 2013, Australia will be switching over to Digital TV. Analogue free-to-air TV signals will be switched off and replaced with digital-only signals.
Digital TV is the latest broadcasting technology that delivers a dramatically sharper picture, greatly improved sound and additional free-to-air channels.
To keep receiving free-to-air channels you will need a TV capable of receiving digital signals.
What are Standard Definition (SD) and High Definition (HD) broadcasts?
SD and HD are the two formats of Digital TV broadcasting. SD is superior to current analogue TV broadcasts, providing ghost-free images in widescreen format. HD pictures are higher resolution, with cinema-quality viewing and Dolby Digital sound.
Are all areas of Australia able to receive Digital TV Transmission?
Remote parts of Australia may be unable to receive digital TV transmissions. The quality of your reception depends on your aerial.
Call the Service Hot Line - included with the Set Top Box - for information and assistance.
