It has been brought to BIG W's attention that the reference to approximate age ranges on page 32 of the catalogue has lead to some confusion for our customers.
Please note, the product weight suitability ranges specified are correct.
However, in seeking to provide customers with additional information, by providing an approximate link between weight ranges and age ranges, in light of changes in state road rules, we have regrettably caused some confusion.
The safety of our customers is of the utmost importance to us and we regret any misunderstanding or concern this additional information may have generated.
Further Information:
Customers should refer to their own state or territory's specific road rules for an understanding of their obligations in regard to the road rules as they relate to car seat safety. Alternatively, "Kidsafe" has advised it can provide assistance with information in relation to child restraint use & the changes to the legislation and that customers can contact "Kidsafe" in their state or territory.
"Kidsafe" recommends as a guide:
- Children younger than 6 months be secured in rearward facing restraints.
- Children between 6 months and 4 years be secured in either a rearward facing or forward facing restraint with an inbuilt harness.
- Children between 4 and 7 years be secured in a forward facing restraint with an inbuilt harness or a booster seat.
